CNC Turning is a highly precise manufacturing process that uses Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines to rotate a workpiece while cutting tools shape it into the desired form. This subtractive process is ideal for producing cylindrical, conical, or round parts with smooth finishes and tight tolerances.

Stainless Steel Flanges are critical components used to connect pipes, valves, pumps, and other equipment in piping systems. Known for their strength, corrosion resistance, and durability, stainless steel flanges ensure secure, leak-free connections in demanding environments across multiple industries.

Manufacturing Process of Rebar Couplers

1. Raw Material Selection
  • Material: High-quality carbon steel or alloy steel rods (e.g., EN8, C45, 20MnCr5).

  • Ensure chemical composition and mechanical properties meet required standards (e.g., ASTM A615, BS4449).

2. Cutting
  • Steel bars or rods are cut to the required coupler length (typically 50–150mm) using band saw or power shearing machines.
3. Turning (Lathe Operation)
  • Each piece is machined on a lathe to achieve the required outer diameter and internal bore.

  • The ends may be chamfered and surface finished to prep for threading.

4. Threading
  • Internal threads are cut using:

    • Tapping (for standard couplers).

    • CNC threading (for precision and larger batches).

    • Roll threading (for higher strength without cutting the grain structure).

  • Threads are designed to match the rebar threading (e.g., ISO, Metric, UNC).

5.0Heat Treatment (Optional, depending on material)
  • Some couplers undergo hardening and tempering to improve tensile strength and fatigue resistance.
6. Surface Treatment / Coating
  • Prevent corrosion with surface finishes like:

    • Zinc plating

    • Phosphating

    • Black oxide coating

    • Powder coating

    • Hot-dip galvanizing (for marine or corrosive environments)

7. Quality Inspection
  • Dimensional checks (length, thread pitch, diameter).

  • Thread gauge inspection for fitment.

  • Mechanical testing:

    • Tensile test

    • Slip test

    • Fatigue test

  • Optional: Ultrasonic or Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) for defect detection.

8. Marking and Packaging
  • Couplers are laser-etched or stamped with:

    • Batch number

    • Manufacturer logo

    • Size/standard

  • Packaged in boxes or crates, sorted by size.

9. Optional Certification & Compliance
  • ISO 15835, ACI, BS 8110, or other national/international standards compliance documentation.
